🛺 Why Tuk Tuks

Sri Lanka's roads are made for tuk tuks — coastal stretches, narrow village streets, winding hill country passes where the wind hits different when you're open-air. No motorcycle license needed. Tuk tuks are manual but simple — easy to pick up, hard to forget. Each tuk tuk fits 1–2 people plus luggage — ride solo or bring someone along. It's the most fun way to see a country that deserves to be seen up close.

📅 Why April 5–11

Early April catches the tail end of dry season on the south and west coasts — warm, sunny beach days in Mirissa and Bentota, pleasant temps in the hill country. We land just before the Sinhala & Tamil New Year celebrations (April 13–14), so you can extend your stay if you want to experience Sri Lanka's biggest cultural holiday. The sweet spot before the southwest monsoon kicks in mid-May.

🏄 Optional Add-Ons (Extra Fees)

Surfing in Mirissa — 1.5hr lesson with local surf school, board included. ~$20/person.
Wood carving class in Bentota — Hands-on workshop with master artisans, take home your carving. ~$20/person.
Whale watching off Mirissa — Blue whale season peaks in April. Half-day boat trip. ~$40–50/person.
Gem mine tour in Ratnapura — See sapphire and ruby mining up close. ~$10–15/person.
These are all pay-as-you-go. No pressure, totally optional.
